About This Product
These everyday scissors have a very special origin — Seki City, Gifu, Japan. Gifu Prefecture has long been known for its knives and cutlery; in the 19th century it was a primary hub for sword and other weapon forging.
The workshop that makes these scissors has been operating since 1946, and each pair is still hand-sharpened (you can see a photo of the sharpening process on the front of each box.) The blades have a slightly curved edge, like fine Japanese knives, making these scissors sharper and more responsive.
The scissor blade is 70 mm (2.75") and the overall length of these scissors is 165 mm (6.5"). They're compact and lightweight, suitable for cutting paper, string, plastic, and other light materials around the art studio.
Packed in a black gift box. Ambidextrous design. Made in Japan.
