There are so many things to love about this convertible twill tote bag from Âme Atendre. The fabric — a lightweight, super-soft twill that feels great to the touch — is sourced from Los Angeles textile factories, which generate lots of fabric waste when cutting material to size for larger manufacturers. Âme Atendre purchases these offcuts and works with a California production studio to turn them into bags.
We call them 'convertible totes' because they have lots of different configurations, depending on how you hold, tie, tuck, and wrap the canvas straps. This tote is a lovely, zero-waste way to give a present; rather than a disposable package, you roll the top of the tote and tie the straps into bows. Then, your recipient can keep and use the bag for many years to come.
The size, 12" x 17", is perfect for most artists — you can comfortably fit an 11" x 14" sketchbook and a stack of watercolor supplies in this tote.
