Gütermann Sew-All Thread
A WORLDWIDE CLASSIC
Gütermann Sew-All Thread is an easy choice for any project that needs a seam, no matter what kind of fabric you're using or what sewing tools you prefer (hand or machine techniques are all fine for Sew-All.) It's made from 100% polyester microfilament, spun with Gütermann's proprietary Micro Core Technology for superior strength and consistency. All colors of Sew-All are silky-smooth and a bit shiny, so they slide swiftly through all kinds of fabric.
Sew-All is 30 tex (100 wt.), a standard diameter that is suitable for clothing seams, upholstery, and handmade items of all kinds. It's great in both top and bottom bobbins of sewing machines. Alternatively, Sew-All can be used in combination with Gütermann Topstitch (with Topstitch in the top bobbin and Sew-All in the bottom) for decorative or extra-heavy-duty seams.
Enjoy making things with Sew-All with fewer worries. This top-quality thread is lint-free, reducing the risk of machine jams and making seams neater. It's very strong but also quite fine, for a sturdy seam that doesn't pucker or bunch up. And Sew-All carries the OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 certification; it has no harmful chemicals and poses no risk to human health.
ABOUT GÜTERMANN
The story of Gütermann started in 1864, when silk trader Max Gütermann decided to open up his own factory to compete with imported Italian threads. He wasn't content with simply copying his competitors, though, and Gütermann's long string of innovations through the 19th and 20th centuries have helped to define the global textile industry.
One major innovation was selling thread by length, rather than weight, as had been the custom up to the late 19th century. Different manufacturers used different methods for measuring both the quantity and width of thread, and Gütermann was a pioneer in standardizing these measures. Customers appreciated the clarity, and Gütermann's reputation grew quickly.
In more recent history, Gütermann is known for inventing the thread spool displays we know and love from every fabric store (before this innovation, thread was usually sold from small drawers.) They were early adopters of computer-controlled dyeing (in 1971), part of the company's longterm commitment to consistency from batch to batch.
