Kakimori Copper Nib

The Kakimori Copper Nib, released in 2025, is the newest and smoothest nib in the Kakimori conical nib lineup. These incredibly popular dip pens offer the freedom and fun of writing with a nib, but without the hassle of constantly dipping or the limitations of traditional nibs.

Simply insert your Kakimori metal nib into a pen holder and dip it in ink. Now you can write a couple of paragraphs in average-sized handwriting, enough for a short note or a diary entry. Or you can start drawing with all of the different surfaces of the Copper Nib. At the rounded point, it's a smooth, medium-width pen that makes consistent marks. But as you angle the Copper Nib, it becomes a free-flowing, calligraphic tool that makes strokes up to 1 cm wide.

Copper is a new material for Kakimori — it's been added to the line as a complement to the original Brass Nib because copper is even softer and will develop much more of an individual patina than any of the other metal choices. As you write with the Copper Nib, you'll slowly smooth out the tip even more, and you'll see it develop the unpredictable patina of copper.

You may notice that your new Copper Nib has reddish areas or spotting; this is a natural effect of raw copper and will not affect the performance of your nib. Kakimori does not recommend cleaning this nib intensively; it will not stop the patina process and you may damage the nib. When used with Kakimori inks (or other water-soluble inks, like those made for fountain pens), only a quick rinse and dry is required between uses.
